How to get Need for Speed Underground 2 legally

What the stores showed

A Steam search for the title on 2026-10-28 returned 50 results and no Underground 2 product page. The hits were later Need for Speed games. A GOG search the same day returned no Need for Speed entries at all. nfsu2.net’s buy page agrees there is no current official digital edition. Those are two independent checks plus a guide site.

Calling the game “abandonware” does not create a license. A legal PC copy is still a used disc set with a serial, from a second-hand seller you trust. Console discs are the same idea. This website does not store an ISO, a ROM, or an executable.

Free in a browser is not a free download of the disc

Hosted browser projects let you play without uploading a disc. That is their service, on their hardware budget, and it is not a file you can keep as your PC install. Building nfsu2-web yourself still requires a v1.2 executable you already own, according to the README.

I ran the Steam and GOG searches myself on 2026-10-28 and saved the negative result. I did not add a shop I had not opened.

PC session of the retail game — A PC session still. The game files are not offered on this page.

Retail PC build in a wide view — Another PC still, from a widescreen install video.

Questions

Is there a Steam key?

No store page was found on 2026-10-28, so there is no key to buy there.

Where is the download button?

There isn’t one. Use a browser project if you want to play tonight, or buy a second-hand disc if you want the PC install.
