Underground 2 Revived (nfsu2.xyz)
What it is
nfsu2.xyz is the hosted Underground 2 Revived site. The repository th0mk/nfsu2-web, created 2026-10-19, describes an x86-to-C-to-WebAssembly path with WebGPU and Web Audio. The README says the repo does not contain the game code or data, and that a self-hosted build needs v1.2 SPEED2.EXE (4,800,512 bytes plus a SHA-256). The hosted site, the same day, said it preloads 1.7 GB and streams the rest, with no account required.
TheGamer’s 2026-10-22 article called the browser build playable and reported more than 1,000 people in Bayview around 3am ET. A guess in that article about how the code was written is the reporter’s speculation, not a documented fact.
How to open the hosted site
- Use a desktop browser with WebGPU. The project names Chrome and Firefox.
- Expect a long first load. The page’s own figure on 2026-10-28 was 1.7 GB. VRacer’s 2026-10-22 description said the page then showed 2.0 GB.
- Cloud save is optional and uses a passphrase you choose. There is no EA login.
- Misspellings such as nfsu2 yxz still point people at this project. The address to type is nfsu2.xyz.
I read the live homepage and the GitHub README on the same morning. The homepage talks about streaming; the README talks about a file you must already own.

Questions
Is Revived the same as nfsu2.org?
No. nfsu2.org is a single-player portal. Revived is the nfsu2.xyz server with its own online races.
Do I upload my disc to play on the website?
The hosted homepage does not ask for an upload. The README’s “bring your own executable” line is for people compiling a server themselves.
